Ep. 612: Oral Health Report in British Columbia

Guest: Dr. Jillian Belbin (President of BC Dental Association)

It’s time to look inside the world of dental care in British Columbia. A new “Oral Health Report” issued by the BC Dental Association titled “Building a Sustainable Oral Healthcare System for British Columbia” outlines five areas where dental health care can improve.

The report states, “BC’s oral healthcare system faces immediate and growing challenges, including access to care, workforce shortages, an evolving policy environment and rising demand.” The report offers “recommendations to provide practical, evidence-based steps to protect access to care, support vulnerable populations and respond to rising demand.”

Key to improving oral healthcare delivery in BC, says Dr Jillian Belbin, the President of the BC Dental Association. is “a partnership between dentists as leaders and advisors and other stakeholders who will help ensure reforms are practical, responsive and grounded in patient realities.”

We invited Dr. Jillian Belbin, the President of the BC Dental Association, to join us for a Conversation That Matters about ensuring BC residents have access to superior dental care in a timely and affordable manner.
